Hello!!Here are two traditional greek games. The “Bee” and the “Ring”

No 1.

 Greek game -“The bee”

The children are divided into two groups. Every team has a leader .The two leaders discuss with each other  and choose secretly two objects like 2 fruits  or 2 sweets  or 2 toys  or 2 books , movies , colors etc. Then singing the ” bee ” children pass under the hands of leaders.The  child which will be caught at the end of the song has to choose between the  two  secret choices of the leaders without to tell it  loundly to the rest , and without knowing who made the choise .Then he goes behind  the leader  whose choice has been selected. At the end when  the two lines are completed  children compete in  strength.The winning team is the  one  who will pull the other stronger.
The song  “The Bee” in “greeklish”
“Perna ,perna i melisa
me ta melisopula
kai me ta pedopula,
kai me ta pedopula!”
The” Bee” song’s translation is somehow like this:
”Τhe bee goes around
with her little bees
with her little bees
her children”
No 2.

Greek game- “The Ring”

All the children sit in a circle. One of them–the head–keeps hidden in his hands a ring.Singing the song he tries to leave the ring in one of the children without the others to understand.The winner is  the child who will  guess correctly where the ring is .The game continues with the winner in the position of   the head.

The song ” The Ring” in greeklish”

“Punto ,punto to daktilidi

psakse ,psakse den tha to vris

den tha to vris

den tha to vris

to daktilidi pu zitis”

The translation of “Ring” song is somehow like this:
“Where ,where is the ring?
You can search but you won’t find it
you won’t find it
you won’t find the ring
that you are looking for”

    Thank you, Aleksandra! The games seem interesting and nice! We’ll try to play them soon /but first our kids have to learn the songs for the games!/. Regards from Bulgaria!

      Hello Nina , i hope that it’s not difficult to understand and play the games!! I think that i should post the meaning of the songs to be more interesting for the students.So,
      the” Bee” song’s translation is somehow like this:
      ”Τhe bee goes around
      with her little bees

      and the translation of “Ring” song is somehow like this:
      “Where ,where is the ring?
      You can search but you won’t find it
      you won’t find it
      you won’t find the ring
      that you are looking for”
