Visit to Greece -Photos 2


On Monday morning, 28/4 a welcoming ceremony was held in the multipurpose room of the school by the students of the fifth and sixth grade . The event was attended by the Director of Primary Education Mr. George Maslaris and School Director of Region 3 Mr. Christos Pastelas. Among the video presentations for Greece and Kastoria , students welcomed the foreign teachers with music , dance and song . The event was followed by a tour of the school and then a formal meeting was held, where we discussed the progress of the project and we decided on future activities .

Then a lunch was held at school in honor of the guests . With admirable voluntary help and offer parents and especially mothers prepared a rich buffet with traditional local dishes and desserts.

  In the afternoon we had a visit to the traditional neighborhood ” Doltso ” , the Folk Museum and the Monastery of Panagia Mavriotissa .

 


Tuesday 29/4 was a day of teaching activities with students . Teachers were split in 6 grades of school and performed activities included teaching songs and dances and painting , history and geography .
In the afternoon  , we visited the Aquarium of Kastoria , the Dragon’s Cave and we took an adventurοusShowers tour with the touristic  boat ” Oresteias “

  On Wednesday 30/4 the team visited Vergina , the waterfalls of Edessa and the Wax Museum in Kastoria Mavrochori . 

 

On Thursday, 1/5 , May Day program included a tour of the lakeside settlement of Dispilio and then celebrate the day with a presentation of traditional dances from the dance department of the Cultural Association Dispilio . The rest of the day was free for shopping , dining and coffee in the beautiful city of Kastoria . The departure of the visitors  was held on Friday, 2/5 .

 

 

 
 
 
Well Done

 

 The visit was crowned with complete success , giving an opportunity for teachers and students to come into contact with different cultures and to exchange ideas and practices .
