Almost 40 teachers and some pupils from our project counties had a wonderful welcome the pupils and staff of the school in Dispilio near Kastoria.
They performed with music, song and dance and also played some instruments too, supported by teacher Nikos on guitar.
We were also welcomed officially by Alexandra and a couple of advisor people. The welcome was very warm and friendly. Later we had a meal of Greek food prepared by staff.
During our visit to the school in Anagni the teachers from around Europe worked with Italian pupils in a variety of activities. Colleagues from the Project could give a presentation about their schools or country, or teach traditional songs and dances from their countries.
The pupils really enjoyed our visit and taking part in the activities that we had prepared. But teachers from our project really enjoyed working with the Italian pupils too. Some of the classes had another presentation prepared for their guests, for example a dance, a song, introductions and explanations in English about their area. The pupils English speaking is excellent and this was an ideal opportunity for them to test their talking and understanding.
Well done and many thanks to all for the wonderful welcome.
Here there is a movie of the welcome the class gave to Scottish teachers, with introductions, geography and baking demonstrations, all done in English, with a traditional dance to finish.
Scottish teachers introduced the Italian pupils to the Scottish Dance, the Gay Gordons, which they tried well, but here you can see them singing the Scottish song ‘Everywhere We Go’ with an Italian twist!
Thirty-four representatives from our project schools met in Italy for our second Comenius Project Meeting
Teachers from our ten project schools met in Anagni, Italy, for our second meeting in our Space Teds’ Adventures project at the end of March 2014.
There were new members to meet as well as colleagues who went to the first meeting in Scotland. There were also two pupils from Turkey on this visit.
Here are movie slide shows from our visit to Anagni and a day visit to Rome, where we saw the Pope address a packed St Peter’s Square in the Vatican City.
